M&M Love story

Maria and Matthias’ love story began in September 2022, when fate brought them together in Seoul during Maria’s short holiday getaway. The connection was instant, and to keep the momentum alive, Matthias traveled to Indonesia shortly after to celebrate Maria’s birthday. They spent a week together in Jakarta and Bali, falling in love over shared adventures and heartfelt moments.

By the end of the trip, Matthias had already met Maria’s parents and her sister Elizabeth, solidifying their bond before returning to Seoul. Two months later, they already spent their first Christmas together in Gijzegem (Belgium) with the Haerens family. This marked the beginning of a long-distance relationship that would span multiple countries, continents, and countless reunions.

In July 2024, Matthias planned the proposal on the stunning Greek island of Milos after asking the blessing from Maria’s father. At the iconic Sarakiniko Beach, surrounded by breathtaking white cliffs, he asked Maria to marry him. A secretly hired Greek photographer captured the moment as Maria joyfully said yes, marking a new chapter in their global romance. From Seoul to Bali and everywhere in between, Maria and Matthias have shown that true love transcends distance and borders.

Can I bring a guest or date?

Due to limited capacity, we can only accommodate the guests listed on your invitation. If a plus one has been included, your invitation will be addressed to “Your Name + Guest.” Thank you for understanding.

Are children invited?

Due to limited capacity, we kindly request your understanding that only the children of immediate family members, specifically named on the invitation, are invited.

Will transportation be provided to and from the hotels?

Shuttle service arrangements from Mulia resort Bali (Nusa Dua), if available, will be reviewed and confirmed closer to the event date. We will share all necessary details to ensure your journey is seamless. Thank you for your patience!

Dress Code

The dress code for our wedding event is Resort Formal with a focus on earth tone colours – think shades inspired by nature such as beige, rich browns, terracotta, olive green, and warm golds. Visual examples are shown below:
